Director of Organisational Development and Learning">

Lead strategic workforce initiatives to build capability, fostering inclusive leadership and driving a values-based culture across a large, diverse organisation.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Workforce Development, you will be responsible for designing and delivering forward-thinking organisational development and leadership learning strategies that align with departmental and whole-government priorities.

Oversee critical workforce functions, including recruitment, workforce planning, employment contracts, governance, human capital management systems (HCMS), and managing divisional operations, high-volume recruitment campaigns, and workforce reporting executive support services.

Champion diversity and inclusion, Aboriginal workforce strategies, and embed principles of talent leadership, organisational development programs, and digital learning platforms.

We are seeking a results-oriented, strategic leader with demonstrated experience in delivering complex organisational development and workforce strategies in large government environments. You will bring deep knowledge of learning and development methodologies, digital learning platforms, and leadership development track records.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing high-volume recruitment and workforce systems, contract vendor oversight, and strong understanding of diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Implementing Aboriginal workforce strategies, high-level communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement skills, and collaborative leadership style.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

Results-driven approach, with a proven track record of achieving goals and objectives.

Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, managers, employees, and external partners.

Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.

Strong business acumen, with a thorough understanding of financial and operational processes.

Experience working with HCMS, HRIS, or other human resources management systems.

Ability to provide training and coaching to staff on best practices in organisational development and leadership.

Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field, such as organisational development, human resources, industrial relations, or a related discipline.

Relevant industry certifications and/or registration with professional bodies.Benefits
