Job Summary:

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical equipment installation projects.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for developing conceptual and hard bids for manufacturing, industrial, and energy transition markets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting take-offs and preparing detailed material, labor, and equipment cost breakdowns
  • Collaborating with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive estimates
  • Developing options and recommending best value solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials
  • Preparing bid proposals, including detailed scope of work, cost estimates, and project timelines
  • Staying current with industry trends, materials pricing, and construction techniques to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimates

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of conceptual estimating and lump sum estimating techniques, as well as:

  • Ability to read and interpret installation manuals, specifications, and technical drawings
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 7-10 years of work experience in the estimating of mechanical equipment installation in a union and/or merit-based environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in estimating software (WinEst) and Microsoft Office Suite
