Role

Tiello has partnered with a leading National Heavy Civil General Contractor to support their growing operations across the Southeast. They are seeking a Senior Estimator in Charlotte, NC to contribute to major infrastructure and civil construction projects, with direct visibility to senior leadership and opportunities to shape project pursuits from the ground up.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage estimating efforts for civil and infrastructure projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and develop pricing for labor, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure scope alignment.
  • Prepare competitive bid packages and proposals for executive review.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations during bid phases.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators in best practices and processes.
  • Partner with leadership to support business development efforts.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience in civil, infrastructure, or heavy construction.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction means, methods, and cost structures.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid or Agtek preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across teams.
  • Willingness to travel or pass background/drug screen
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S.
