Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Farm Manager to join our team at Warakirri Cropping. As an Assistant Farm Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of our farm operations, working closely with the Farm Manager to ensure the smooth running of our agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Farm Manager in the day-to-day management of farm operations, including crop management, livestock management, and equipment maintenance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of farm management plans, including crop rotation, soil conservation, and water management.
  • Work closely with the Farm Manager and other team members to ensure the effective use of resources, including labor, equipment, and supplies.
  • Monitor and report on farm performance, including crop yields, soil health, and water usage.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve farm efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with the Farm Manager and other team members to identify and address any issues or concerns that may impact farm operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, including training and development opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in farm management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of crop management, livestock management, and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
