Membrane Protein Systems Simulation Expert
2 days ago
This project presents a fascinating opportunity for a skilled researcher to investigate the molecular mechanisms of the cardiac HERG potassium ion channel.
The goal is to describe inactivation and drug modulation mechanisms for HERG using advanced computational methods. This research employs cutting-edge simulations, structural, and functional experiments to examine HERG channel mechanisms.
As part of this project, you will collaborate with researchers at leading institutions, working on high-impact research expected to be published in top journals.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in atomistic simulations of membrane protein systems, with a strong preference for experience in simulations of ion channels, particularly potassium channels.
Requirements- A PhD in physics, physical chemistry, or a closely related field.
- A research background in computation in biophysics, condensed matter physics, or physical chemistry.
- Experience in atomistic simulations of membrane protein systems, with a strong preference for experience in simulations of ion channels, particularly potassium channels.
- Expertise in statistical mechanical theory and molecular dynamics simulations for biophysical problems using existing packages.
We are looking for a highly motivated and driven researcher who can work autonomously and effectively in a team environment. If you have excellent communication and writing skills, and are able to meet deadlines and manage varying workloads, we encourage you to apply.
