Occupational Health Specialist Role

Key responsibilities of this role include providing occupational health specialist advice, technical and management support. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to assist with the implementation of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) systems and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSEQ policies and procedures that align with company standards.
  • Undertake risk assessments, field interactions, audits, and inspections of complex tasks.
  • Provide technical expertise in areas such as hazard identification, risk mitigation, and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Work closely with management teams to conduct investigations into workplace incidents.
  • Report potential hazards and misconduct in a timely manner.
  • Drive for an inclusive and positive work environment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in occupational health or a related field are essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within the civil or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of current industry standards, requirements, and relevant legislation.
  • Previous experience delivering projects on mine sites is highly desirable.
  • Current valid First Aid Certificate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Proven ability to engage and foster relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Capable of working efficiently unsupervised as well as within a team environment.
  • Hold a dedicated commitment to the safety of all individuals on site.
