Key Responsibilities

Accurate budget preparation using real quotes and pricing, tracking costs, reporting, and collaborating closely with the internal team and contractors to minimize issues, solve buildability challenges, and deliver cost-effective solutions with minimal overruns is a key aspect of this role.

Calculating material quantities with high accuracy, reviewing drawings and specifications, and designing precise layouts to ensure compliance and buildability are also critical tasks.

Applying building best practices to review plans and designs, recommending smarter product options, creating clear technical drawings, and ensuring compliance with current building standards are essential skills for success in this position.

Maintaining accurate catalogues, reviewing subcontractor quotes for cost and quality, and preparing supplier requests with all necessary plans, specifications, and scopes of work are additional responsibilities.

Creating accurate purchase orders, awarding them to contractors within timelines, and processing invoices are other key duties.

Updating templates with product improvements, cost savings, buildability solutions, and feedback to keep them accurate and relevant for future projects is also an important task.

Using systems to manage reports, budgets, orders, and catalogues, taking precise measurements from plans, and keeping project dates, workflows, and timelines up to date are critical skills for this role.

Requirements

This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Estimator in the residential construction industry.

Relevant qualifications in construction, project management, or quantity surveying are also necessary.

A proven track record of preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for various residential construction projects is essential.

Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards is required.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings is also necessary.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve cost variances, are critical for success in this position.

Flexible with excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, is also required.

Proficient in the use of Databuild, Bluebeam, Therefore, and the Microsoft suite of products is necessary.
