About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Governance Manager to join our team at the Victorian Department of Health. As a key member of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Division, you will be responsible for embedding governance systems and processes that will drive reforms across mental health and AOD.

The successful candidate will hold accountability for system-wide governance, monitor decision making, and manage key advisory functions. You will lead a small team to coordinate responses to emerging issues and risks, and develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a whole of enterprise approach to governance across mental health and AOD reforms.
  2. Lead the integration of governance models with project management approaches to support enhanced oversight and delivery.
  3. Provide authoritative advice on governance and advisory mechanisms to support decision making.
  4. Supervise and lead a team of employees, providing coaching, development, and management.
  5. Operate in accordance with delegated authority, consistent with departmental and government policies.
  6. Identify emerging issues, risks, and trends impacting key business objectives and provide high-quality business intelligence.
