Job Title: Senior Track and Civil Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Track and Civil Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and advice on railway track and civil engineering matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice on track and civil engineering matters to maintenance, projects, design, and asset management functions within the business.
  • Review designs for track and civil infrastructure from internal and external parties, including routine maintenance works, enhancements, and third-party works.
  • Conduct technical investigations into root causes of incidents where track or civil infrastructure is suspected to be at fault.
  • Contribute to short and long-term renewals and maintenance plans for our organization in areas such as rerailing, rail grinding, track resurfacing, turnout works, level crossing works, and ballast cleaning.
  • Actively work with and provide engineering advice to the assets team to enable the development, updating, and maintenance of asset strategies for CRN assets.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating all standards, manuals, specifications, technical notes, and waivers within your discipline to ensure they remain safe and fit for purpose.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Engineering or related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering or Asset Management are highly regarded.

Chartered Professional Engineer status (or eligibility for this status).

8+ years of practice in track, permanent way, or rail geotechnical roles, ideally with a mixture of project delivery, maintenance, design, and asset management.
