About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineering Manager to lead our Structural team at Taylor Thomson Whitting. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the development of staff and staffing projections for ongoing and future projects within your team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the development of staff and staffing projections for ongoing and future projects within your team.
  • Assume responsibility for management and profitability of multiple complex large-scale projects, including pricing, tender submissions, technical documentation, project scheduling, and monitoring progress.
  • Responsible for the development, management, and training of staff, including recruitment, selection, and remuneration.
  • Manage the technical and contractual aspects of projects to ensure technical requirements are met and performed in compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles to devise and deliver practical and economical solutions to problems.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, as well as establish your own client database.
  • Manage and lead the production of designs, documentation, specifications, fee proposals, reports, and other documentation to meet client requirements for projects of various levels of complexity.
  • Assist in the establishment of and monitor adherence to discipline-related policies and procedures.
  • Lead and effectively manage staff by modeling and driving a positive, one-company culture.
  • Guide colleagues on best practice and share technical expertise within the company.

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture or equivalent.
  • Membership with Engineers Australia and CPEng.
  • Minimum ten (10) years' experience in engineering design in a consulting environment.
  • Ability to scheme up major projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Excellent understanding of BCA requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to deliver on time, on budget, and to client requirements.
  • Strong business acumen.
