We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Protection Engineer to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating advanced engineering design solutions, managing project construction, and providing technical expertise through commissioning and implementation.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design Solutions: Generate high-quality design solutions for complex fire protection systems, considering all relevant Australian standards.
  • Project Management: Lead medium to large-scale projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Technical Authority: Provide technical guidance and expertise to clients, colleagues, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Research and Development: Conduct research to validate design solutions, using advanced techniques for accuracy and compliance.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and test design effectiveness, engaging in peer reviews for quality assurance and improvement.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct site inspections, review contractors' work, and prepare comprehensive reports to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with project team members to review contractors' shop drawings and RFIs, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Financial Management: Manage project data, time records, and finances, providing regular status reports and resolutions to stakeholders.

Your Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (a Master's degree is highly regarded) and minimum 10 years of experience in fire protection engineering, preferably in consulting. You should have extensive expertise in engineering principles, innovative design solutions, strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in design and project management software.

In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary package of $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience.
