Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team as a Grade 3 Clinician. This role involves providing operational leadership and clinical support while delivering direct social work services to patients across one or more Austin Health sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the operations of the Social Work Department
  • Apply Social Work expertise to assess, treat, support, and plan patient discharge
  • Provide counselling to patients and families
  • Supervise grade 1 Social Workers and Social Work students
  • Contribute to quality improvement, service enhancement, and/or research initiatives
Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work and eligibility for Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) membership
  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to a positive team culture
