About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Services Manager to join our team at Edward Jacobs. As a key member of our business services department, you will be responsible for managing a team of accountants and controlling your own book of clients from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 8 accountants and control your own book of clients from start to finish
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Manage the preparation of financial accounts, income tax returns, and business activity statements for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
  • Draft tax advice to clients on particular transactions
  • Mentor and manage a group of junior accountants
  • IT - issues, upgrades, and improvements
  • High amount of both internal and external stakeholder engagement
  • Support other managers and directors to achieve their tasks. Can perform complex assignments for directors
  • Review of job budgets, monitoring of WIP, and adherence to the firm's workflow process. Approve fees with accurate and appropriate narratives demonstrating a commercial approach
  • Strong technical tax (direct and indirect) knowledge in matters applicable to the SME market
