Technical Piping Specialist

The role of Technical Piping Specialist involves delivering high-quality technical documentation and expertise that meets strict procedural and auditable requirements.

  • Develop accurate and comprehensive technical information and documentation that meet all procedural and auditable requirements.
  • Ensure timely delivery of work outputs and maintain construction schedules to prevent delays or compromise.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information through drawings, verbal, and written means to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach towards innovation and improvement by continually seeking more efficient methods of performing tasks.

Requirements:

  • Formal qualifications in drafting or equivalent professional experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in drafting/modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, ShipConstructor, Plant 3D) with the ability to generate complex piping system models and spool drawings.
  • Expertise in 3D modelling of piping systems and creation of detailed spool drawings.
  • Ability to interpret and understand complex P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian and international codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong data management and document control skills.
  • Understanding of material properties and compatibility within marine environments.
  • Strong understanding of data and document management principles.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience with ShipConstructor modelling software.
  • Background in structural or mechanical modelling.
  • Modelling/drafting experience within the marine industry.
  • Knowledge of regulatory body rules and regulations.
