Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with business leaders to provide comprehensive HR support;
  2. Deliver operational HR guidance to both management and staff;
  3. Address HR policy inquiries and provide necessary clarifications;
  4. Assist in the recruitment, retention, and onboarding processes in alignment with company standards;
  5. Oversee the resolution of workplace challenges, ensuring proper communication and consultation;
  6. Build constructive relationships with union representatives;
  7. Engage in consultative meetings and negotiations related to enterprise agreements;
  8. Contribute to various HR projects and initiatives;
  9. Advise on the contents and implications of enterprise agreements;
  10. Prepare and present monthly reports for the leadership team;
  11. Guide performance management processes and support related activities;
  12. Assist in identifying and addressing learning and development needs;
  13. Support workforce planning efforts;
  14. Collaborate with the broader HR team as necessary;
  15. Help maintain accurate employee records.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of experience in HR generalist roles, particularly in industrial relations. A resilient, proactive, and results-driven approach is essential.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in a blue-collar work environment;
  • Ability to interpret enterprise agreements effectively;
  • HR experience within a unionized setting;
  • Strong change management capabilities and a practical approach to HR;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders;
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office.
