Job Description

This role involves hands-on diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure the reliability, safety and compliance of plant and fleet assets. The Mechanical Tradesperson will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of vehicles, plant and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and repairs: Diagnostics, repairs and preventative maintenance on Council's fleet assets.
  • Outsourced services coordination: Engage and manage suitably qualified external providers for specialized repairs and maintenance.
  • Compliance assurance: Ensure all fleet, plant, equipment and workshop environments comply with statutory regulations.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a trade qualification in Mechanical (Diesel Fitter) and suitable trade experience. They will also require knowledge in Metal Arc Welding / MIG / Oxy cutting and welding, as well as a C Class Open Licence and General Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
