Position Overview:
The Toro Company is in search of a Technical Support and Training Specialist to fulfill a vital role within our organization. This position is designed to provide extensive technical training and assistance to both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be tasked with creating and executing training initiatives that encompass the complete spectrum of Toro equipment, ensuring that our service personnel, sales representatives, and dealer networks possess the essential knowledge for optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate both in-person and virtual training sessions tailored to internal and external stakeholders, focusing on specific content related to Toro products, services, and operational processes.
- Design new instructional materials and assess the effectiveness of existing content.
- Utilize cutting-edge technologies in the Learning and Development sector to enhance training delivery.
- Deliver high-level diagnostic skills and troubleshooting support for the repair of major systems, including Tier 4 diesel, EFI gasoline, hybrid/alternative power, all-electric power, hydrostatic transmissions, hydraulic systems, and sprayers.
- Provide technical assistance through various channels, including in-person consultations, phone support, video conferencing, and other formats within Toro's technical support framework.
- Offer guidance and occasionally perform diverse mechanical tasks related to the repair, maintenance, and servicing of the Toro equipment range.
- Participate in regional customer events as a technical support representative for Toro products.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Mobile Plant or a related field (mandatory).
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and Certificate III in Automotive Electrical or a similar qualification are preferred.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Absorb is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in public speaking or teaching in a classroom setting, with the ability to engage and maintain the audience's attention.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and demonstrated computer skills.
- Proven ability to diagnose faults in Toro equipment or possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant industry.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics effectively.
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of various types of turf, golf course, and plant equipment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster effective business relationships with both internal and external clients.
- Possession of a valid Australian Motor Vehicle License.
- Possession of a valid Australian passport or the ability to obtain one, along with the capacity to secure a visa for the United States.
