Job Title:

A Senior Operational Risk Manager will lead a team responsible for ensuring compliance and sustainability in operational activities.

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Compliance Department, ensuring effective service and support to site operations departments and other functional areas.
  • Lead the planning and execution of organisational efficiency initiatives, integrating cross-functional support structures and combining common functions into single role accountability where possible.
  • Develop and maintain an effective centralised Compliance Management System containing all Compliance-related standards, procedures and legal requirements.
  • Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of site risk management and training systems.
  • Manage internal and external compliance verification processes, including monitoring industry and legal developments to ensure timely and compliant operational changes.
  • Maintain collaborative relations with senior leadership teams and other site stakeholders.
About You:

Hold a minimum fifteen years of experience in mining operational environments.

Possess tertiary qualifications in one or more compliance-related fields, with preference given to qualifications in mining, engineering or related disciplines.

Have NSW Statutory mining qualifications and knowledge of NSW Coal Mines Compliance requirements.

Be experienced in interacting with various NSW Government Regulatory Institutions.

Have extensive exposure to OC coal mining practices and management.
