Maintenance Professional

This is an exciting opportunity to join our hotel team as a maintenance professional. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel property.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to take on this challenging role. You will be working closely with our Rooms Division Manager and General Manager to develop and implement maintenance strategies that meet the needs of our guests.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and manage a routine and non-routine Repairs and Maintenance (R&M) budget for the financial year.
- Control departmental expenses within set targets and notify the General Manager of any potential over budget expenditure within the department.
- Follow, update and enforce the hotel policies, procedures, guidelines and manuals to ensure compliance, safety and profitability.
- Develop and enforce procedures, guidelines and training resources to ensure equipment are used and maintained correctly by all team members.
- Manage repairs and maintenance with the aim to avoid major interruption to Event's business.
- Maintain BWOF (Building Warrant of Fitness) and Compliant Schedules.
- Maintain and schedule fire damper register.
- Develop and enforce routine maintenance checklists.
- Review maintenance logs regularly to identify ways to reduce repetitive maintenance.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sanitation stations etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
