Dementia Care Professional

This is an exciting chance to be part of a leading organization in South Australia, providing personalized support and engagement to residents living with dementia. The successful candidate will work closely with site-based leadership, supported by the Clinical Nurse Consultant – Dementia, to ensure high-quality care and support for residents.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide individualized care and emotional support to residents living with dementia.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities aligned with their backgrounds and interests to foster comfort, familiarity, and positive emotions.
- Create a safe, supportive environment that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being.
- Respond empathetically to residents' emotional needs to foster a calm and reassuring environment.
- Assist care staff with activities of daily living when called upon by site management.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be enthusiastic, motivated, and eager to learn, with strong time management and organizational skills. They will have experience in participating and organizing recreational or leisure activities and specific experience working with older adults, with dementia-specific experience being advantageous.
About the Role- Permanent part-time and casual opportunities available across 13 sites in Adelaide Metro and Yorke Peninsula.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Aged Care, or equivalent, required, along with a minimum of 6 months experience in aged care.
