About the Role

This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute their expertise in dementia care to our team. We are seeking a skilled consultant with a passion for delivering high-quality support services and driving best practice implementation.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working in residential aged care and/or community aged care, with a strong understanding of dementia impacts and behaviour changes. They will be able to synthesise information through observation and written documentation, providing recommendations that are relationship-centred and informed by evidence-based best practice.

We require a highly motivated individual who can work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, contributing to the development of resources and behaviour support planning. This role offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with dementia and their families.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines. They will also possess empathy and patience, with a current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Families: Provide expert guidance to families, caregivers, and clinical staff on how dementia impacts each individual.
  • Equip Carers and Clinicians: Develop and deliver training programs to equip carers and clinicians with the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to behaviour changes.
  • Develop Resources: Create behaviour support plans and other resources that are tailored to individual needs and informed by evidence-based best practice.
  • Undertake Assessments: Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the holistic experience of individuals and their care networks.
