About Us
Job OverviewThis role is an opportunity to work with a leading not-for-profit aged care provider in South Australia, supporting individuals living with dementia and enhancing their wellbeing.
We are looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic person to join our team, providing individualised care and support to residents, engaging them in meaningful activities, and promoting independence, dignity and optimal wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emotional support to residents living with dementia
- Engage residents in activities that generate comfort, familiarity and positive emotion
- Create a safe and supportive environment, promoting independence and optimal wellbeing
- Foster a calm and reassuring environment, responding empathetically to residents' needs
- Support care staff with activities of daily living as required
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent qualification
- 6 months experience in Aged Care
- Experience working with Older People, preferably with dementia-specific experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm and motivation, with a willingness to learn
- Ability to think autonomously and show initiative
- Positive interaction with residents and their families
