About Us

Job Overview

This role is an opportunity to work with a leading not-for-profit aged care provider in South Australia, supporting individuals living with dementia and enhancing their wellbeing.

We are looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic person to join our team, providing individualised care and support to residents, engaging them in meaningful activities, and promoting independence, dignity and optimal wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support to residents living with dementia
  • Engage residents in activities that generate comfort, familiarity and positive emotion
  • Create a safe and supportive environment, promoting independence and optimal wellbeing
  • Foster a calm and reassuring environment, responding empathetically to residents' needs
  • Support care staff with activities of daily living as required
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent qualification
  • 6 months experience in Aged Care
  • Experience working with Older People, preferably with dementia-specific experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm and motivation, with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to think autonomously and show initiative
  • Positive interaction with residents and their families
