
Payroll Systems Implementation Leader

Lead the full end-to-end implementation of a brand new payroll system, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver a smooth and successful transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Implementation Leadership – drive all phases of the payroll system implementation, from requirements gathering to go live, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- System Design & Configuration – set up and configure payroll settings including awards, classifications, loadings, allowances, and entitlements to meet compliance and operational needs.
- Data Integrity – identify, cleanse, and map data to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy across HRIS and payroll systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement – work with Payroll, HR, Operations, IT, and Finance to capture requirements, provide progress updates, and champion adoption of the new system.
- Testing & Training – manage User Acceptance Testing, create clear training documentation, and deliver sessions to ensure users are confident and capable.
- Post-Implementation Support – provide troubleshooting, ongoing system optimisation, and vendor management to ensure continued performance and compliance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in the end-to-end implementation of a payroll system (including payroll, onboarding, and workforce planning modules)
- Hands-on expertise configuring awards, pay rules, and entitlements within a system to meet compliance requirements
- Strong background in data integration between HRIS and payroll systems
- Experience supporting payroll projects within a multi-site, shift-based workforce (Health, hospitality, or retail is highly regarded)
- A track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects
