Payroll Project Implementation Manager

In this pivotal role, you will lead the full end-to-end implementation of a new payroll system, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure a smooth and successful transition.

Responsibilities:
- System Implementation Leadership: Drive all phases of the payroll system implementation, from requirements gathering to go-live, ensuring timely delivery within scope.
- System Design & Configuration: Set up and configure payroll settings including awards, classifications, loadings, allowances, and entitlements to meet compliance and operational needs.
- Data Integrity: Identify, cleanse, and map data to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy across HRIS and payroll systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Operations, IT, and Finance to gather requirements, provide updates, and promote system adoption.
- Testing & Training: Manage User Acceptance Testing, create training documentation, and conduct sessions to ensure user confidence.
- Post-Implementation Support: Offer troubleshooting, system optimization, and vendor management to maintain performance and compliance.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll system implementation, including modules like payroll, onboarding, and workforce planning
- Hands-on experience configuring awards, pay rules, and entitlements to meet compliance
- Strong background in data integration between HRIS and payroll systems
- Experience supporting payroll projects in multi-site, shift-based environments (health, hospitality, retail highly regarded)
- Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams on complex projects
