We are seeking a skilled Spiritual Care Practitioner to join our organisation. The successful candidate will provide spiritual care support across all of our sites, promoting values of cooperation, teamwork, openness, collaboration, honesty and respect for others in all professional relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality spiritual care services to patients, families and carers related to a patient's current admission.
  • Promote values of cooperation, teamwork, openness, collaboration, honesty and respect for others in all professional relationships.
  • Offer timely, appropriate and confidential emotional and spiritual support to meet the needs of patients, families and carers.
  • Refer to appropriate interdisciplinary services to meet needs identified by patient/family/carer during encounters that fall outside Spiritual Care's scope of practice.
  • Develop and facilitate professional development and education programs relating to spiritual care within the organisation.
  • Raise awareness and understanding of diverse cultures, beliefs, practices and traditions.
Requirements:
  • Spiritual care experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated consistent self-awareness and ability to function at Level 3 of the Spiritual Health Australia Capability Framework.
  • Eligibility to become an advanced, waged member of Spiritual Care Australia and adherence to the Spiritual Care Australia Code of ethics.
  • A minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Theology/Pastoral Counselling/Social Sciences or equivalent.
  • Professional behaviour and conduct which reflects self-initiative, confidentiality, self-evaluation and commitment to professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills.
  • Well-developed skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Current driver's licence.
