About the Role
The Spiritual Care Specialist will be responsible for delivering holistic spiritual care and support to our residents, prioritizing their needs and preferences. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with residents, families, and staff to provide personalized spiritual care support.
- Deliver spiritual care services that cater to diverse backgrounds, cultures, and faiths, ensuring inclusive and respectful practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and address spiritual care needs, promoting a comprehensive approach to patient-centered care.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to inform spiritual care planning, ensuring it remains responsive to evolving resident needs.
- Participate in education and training initiatives to enhance professional knowledge and skills, staying up-to-date with best practices in spiritual care.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in pastoral care, spiritual direction, counseling, or related fields.
- Clinical Pastoral Education and/or equivalent desirable.
- Recent experience working in aged care, healthcare, or community care settings.
- Established skills in relationship building, conflict resolution, and communication.
- Eligibility for certification in spiritual care (e.g., SCA).
