Job Summary

We are seeking an Asset Custodian to join our team at the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

About the Role

The Asset Custodian is responsible for maintaining prisoner property stores stock levels, safekeeping of prisoners stored property, prisoners property requests, the prisoners greens store and valuables register. This position involves liaison with prisoners, searching prisoner property, and ensuring the accuracy of property lists on reception, transfer, and discharge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Updating records as required on acquisition / disposal / transfer of property
  • Making recommendations pertaining to prisoner property and clothing issues
  • Searching prisoner property
  • Managing and supervising a prison worker (PSW) and reporting on their progress

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have clerical experience, preferably in stores, and an ability to develop and maintain records and systems relating to administrative functions. You should also be able to undertake inquiries and stocktakes, maintain inventories, prepare reports, correspondence and statistical returns.
