Competitive Salary: $85,000 - $95,000 per annum

Our Senior Garment Technician will spearhead the quality and fit process across Apparel, ensuring our designs meet the highest standards through all stages of development and bulk production. Leveraging expertise, they will guarantee that our garments retain their integrity while seamlessly transitioning into mass production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive effective and efficient processes for accurate on-time sample development
  • Collaborate with buying to ensure samples are right-first-time and aligned with commercial requirements
  • Liaise with suppliers and factories to deliver innovation on garment manufacturing methods and construction techniques
  • Conduct risk assessments on products within the product team, highlighting and resolving potential risks
  • Partner with suppliers to develop a thorough understanding of key garment supply base capabilities, sharing knowledge
  • Provide clear and direct technical instructions to offshore offices within the required timeline
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, demonstrating commercial acumen when advising
  • Carry out full preparation for fit sessions, assessing sample construction tension, fabric type, and garment
  • Fitting garments with Designer/Buyer to ensure samples meet agreed specifications as per 'Design Brief' and delivery dates can be maintained
  • Assess workload projection for the following weeks using production schedules and critical paths
  • Advise and troubleshoot testing issues for product areas, minimizing risk and streamlining decision-making

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Officer or Garment Technician in the fashion industry
  • Experience managing and leading QA teams is advantageous
  • Background in working with major clothing retailers or manufacturers
  • Demonstrable understanding of the clothing sector and its dynamics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and QA-related software
  • Advanced understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and grading
  • Understanding of quality standards and legal labeling requirements
  • Industry knowledge of products being fit for purpose
