Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving our risk management activities within the first line of defence.

This senior manager position oversees risk management strategies, frameworks, and standards to ensure risks, obligations, and control designs meet requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head of Line 1 Risk in developing and implementing risk management frameworks.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including leadership, heads of business units, Group Risk, Group Compliance, and Internal Audit.
  • Delivering risk governance activities, including key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk reporting to senior committees.
  • Providing pragmatic risk advice and insights to support the business in reducing complexity and risk.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in risk management, ideally across people and culture and/or group risk landscapes. They will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to motivate and lead a team.

A proactive risk culture is essential for this role. The successful candidate will be expected to enhance our ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring that our risk management frameworks and strategies are integrated into business operations.

Additionally, they will promote innovative risk management solutions aligned with the company's strategic direction and growth objectives.
