Senior Manager Insurance and Financial Risk Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned insurance professional to lead our team in identifying, assessing, and managing insurance-specific risks.

The successful candidate will contribute to the broader financial risk landscape, working closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and evolve how insurance risk is understood and managed across the business.
  • Champion a culture where risk is seen as a business enabler, not just a control function.
  • Bring technical expertise to dimensionalise stakeholder engagement.
  • Engage, educate, and influence senior leaders and SMEs, bringing insurance risk to the front of strategic conversations.
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience in risk management, with a background in the general insurance industry.
  • Relevant tertiary education in quantitative fields such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
  • Knowledge of APRA prudential regulation and other relevant regulatory requirements impacting the insurance industry.
  • Experience with developing risk reporting for various levels of the business, including the Board.
