Key Role for a Technical Authority:

The Discipline Head - Rollingstock plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining Rolling Stock standards and technical specifications, working closely with other discipline heads to ensure compliance and excellence.

Responsibilities and Deliverables:
  • Review and modify Engineering Standards to ensure alignment with safety legislation and industry best practices
  • Authorise the release of new or modified Rolling Stock Standards that meet or exceed contemporary expectations
  • Support engineering directives to address temporary deficiencies or corrections within the Rolling Stock suite
  • Monitor operational alignment to Rolling Stock standards, influencing and intervening as necessary to maintain and improve contemporary best practice
Requirements for Success:
  • Demonstrated expertise in railway transport operations and asset management principles
  • Extensive knowledge of Rolling Stock Engineering and industry standards defining contemporary best practice
  • A current registration as a Registered Practicing Engineer (RPEQ) or equivalent qualifications
  • At least 15 years' relevant experience as a qualified professional engineer in an associated engineering discipline
