Procurement and Contracts Officer

The role of Procurement and Contracts Officer is a key position within our organization, requiring an individual with strong commercial management skills, procurement expertise, and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier engagement to ensure seamless contract execution.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives, ensuring optimal value for money.
  • Prepare and manage procurement documentation, contracts, and related records in accordance with established standards and templates.
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Oversee the receipt of goods, manage variations in purchase orders, and address quantity discrepancies and price mismatches to maintain contractual compliance.
  • Establish and lead regular contract management meetings with key contractors/suppliers to monitor performance and address any issues.
  • Review contract performance reports and provide updates on risk mitigation and performance abatement to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop auditing, management, and compliance reporting as required to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor contract/purchase order costs and support budgeting and forecasting to optimize financial planning.
  • Prepare and deliver regular procurement and contract management reports to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in Business, Commerce, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of successful procurement and contract management.
  • CIPS qualification is not mandatory but will be considered an advantage.
