Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at Barminco. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our site administrators, including training and mentoring, as well as acting as a point of contact for queries and assist with leave coverage. You will also attend sites to conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Additionally, you will support change management and improvement projects, set up administrative systems, and troubleshoot any administrative issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide functional support, training, and mentoring to site administrators
  • Act as a point of contact for site administrator queries and assist with leave coverage
  • Attend sites to conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Support change management and improvement projects
  • Set up administrative systems and assist with mobilisation of new sites
  • Troubleshoot any administrative issues that may arise
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 2+ years of administrative experience in a FIFO mining environment (UG mining preferred)
  • Relevant experience in a similar administrative role or leadership role
  • Excellent technical skills in a range of systems
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and effective time management
  • Ability to analyse, resolve problems, and make decisions in a logical and effective manner
  • Excellent organisational skills, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in SAP, Success Factors is advantageous
  • Physical and mental ability to withstand long hours in a strenuous and potentially high hazard work environment
  • Successfully pass a Pre-Employment Medical and obtain National Police Clearance
  • C class licence is minimum
  • MS Office knowledge, Proficient in Excel and MS word should be intermediate to advanced
  • Ability to work autonomously
