Procurement Specialist

At Perenti Group, we are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our Supply & Logistics team at our Head Office in Hazelmere. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the procurement and expediting of parts and services, as well as liaising with stakeholders to ensure that orders are filled, receipted and ready to reconcile with invoices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure required goods and services as per published schedules at best possible price in accordance with current policies and procedures.
- Regularly review and follow-up on outstanding orders and credits.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
- Continuously review and benchmark current and potential suppliers to identify cost savings and ensure the company is procuring the best available value for money goods and services.
- Assist and support users with queries on parts catalogue and orders.
- Support resolution of purchase order issues, queries and discrepancies.
- Ensure correct authorisations and code allocations are used on all purchases.
- Ensure that internal warehouse stock holdings are considered before placing orders with suppliers.
- Ensure that the company's HS&E and QA policies are adhered to in the course of performing all duties.
Requirements:
- Be comfortable in dealing with large volumes of data.
- Experience within the Mining or Resources Industry is preferred.
- A minimum of 12 months working in a similar role with experience using SAP MM module desirable.
- A formal purchasing/supply chain management course qualification would be highly regarded.
- Be well versed in the Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Well-developed time management and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
