Claims Portfolio Manager

The primary function of this role is to manage a portfolio of complex death claims through to closure while providing support and assistance to families and loved ones of deceased members, demonstrating empathy and compassion at all stages.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the review and manage death claim distribution through case management to payment.
- Act as the first point of contact for claimants ensuring they have all factual information and are well-informed of the claim process and progress, managing their claim with professionalism and in a timely manner.
- Maintain queues under case management ensuring all outstanding work items are addressed within service standards.
- Ensure workflow is maintained at a high standard.
- Identify any insurance benefits a member may be eligible for and manage the relationship with insurers and other third parties to ensure successful assessment of relevant insurance claims.
- Strong interpersonal skills when interacting with claimants on the phone.
- Strong problem-solving and solutions-oriented skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and pride in performance.
- Relevant experience in a similar role (with an administrator or in superannuation insurance preferred).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to proofread and spell-check content.
- Excellent organisational abilities to manage tasks according to priority.
