Job Title: Technical Claims Specialist

We are seeking a talented individual to contribute to the delivery of claims management services in Melbourne.

Role Overview

This role involves managing a portfolio of high-value Public Liability and Professional Indemnity claims for Local Government clients, working collaboratively with clients and our broader team to produce cost-effective outcomes.

  • Manage complex claims: End-to-end management of high-value Public Liability, Professional Indemnity claims.
  • Investigate and negotiate: Accurate reserving, claims investigation, manage claims costs, and negotiate with third parties.
  • Attend mediations: Attend mediations and negotiate with panel solicitors and plaintiff solicitors.
  • Client relationships: Build rapport with existing clients on both claims and in educational presentations.
  • Stakeholder relationships: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as MAV, underwriters, and reinsurers.
  • Reporting: Regular reporting of large and/or contentious claims internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of high-value Public Liability and Professional Indemnity claims.
  • Investigate and negotiate claims, including accurate reserving and managing claims costs.
  • Attend mediations and negotiations with third parties.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reporting on large and/or contentious claims.
