Claims Management Specialist

Job Summary:

The Claims Management Specialist will oversee a portfolio of cases and implement effective interventions to achieve optimal recovery and return-to-work outcomes for injured workers.

This role requires advanced claims, injury, and return-to-work management skills, as well as exceptional stakeholder management abilities to deliver successful outcomes for all parties involved.

In this position, you will work closely with case managers to provide strategic and operational support, recognizing the critical impact your role has on the lives of injured workers during difficult times.

  • A forward-thinking approach to case management that drives innovation and results.
  • Proven experience in preparing for, attending, and actively participating in claims reviews and clinical case conferences to facilitate successful outcomes for injured workers.
  • Evaluating aspects of an injured worker's recovery and liability relevant to the Victorian workers' compensation scheme, while completing ongoing reviews related to entitlements and payments.
  • Providing guidance and support to claims teams in interpreting complex claims scenarios and developing strategies for delivering timely interventions.
  • Delivering face-to-face claims management support to injured workers, employers, and relevant stakeholders to achieve successful return-to-work outcomes.
  • Leading and implementing cohort-based claims strategies at team, practice group, and organizational levels.
  • Taking on lead claims management responsibility for high-profile and complex customers.

Required Expertise
  • Significant experience in claims management within the Victorian workers' compensation scheme.
  • Knowledge of medical and paramedical terminology and procedures, including forms of treatment applicable to injuries.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Workplace Injury and Rehabilitation Act 2015 and associated regulations.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ACCtion and Novus.
