About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Liability Claims Professional to manage Latent & Special Risk claims on a permanent full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficient management of the claims process, resulting in accurate completion and validation of claims.
  • Interpreting policy coverage and determining if coverage applies to claims submitted, escalating issues as needed.
  • Maintaining good client relationships with the insured, brokers, investigators, solicitors, and the general public.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant statutory guidelines and standards.
  • Initiation and completion of recoveries from third parties.
  • Self-audit of claims files to ensure positive internal audits.
  • Responding to enquiries in an accurate, timely, professional, and courteous manner within privacy guidelines.
Requirements
  • Strong technical claims experience and expertise in managing complex Latent & Special Risk claims is preferred.
  • Technical claims expertise in specialty classes of insurance, including managing complex bodily injury, including psychiatric and psychological injury, with sound decision-making based on technical, investigative, and medical reports.
  • Proven understanding of underwriting procedures and policy wordings across a diversified liability portfolio.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with external providers such as loss adjusters, lawyers, and consultants.
  • Expert knowledge and practical application of the General Insurance Code of Practice.
  • Effective relationship-building with clients and customers, maintaining confidentiality and resilience.
  • Participation in alternative dispute resolution processes.
