Protect Claims Manager

This role is a key position in our organisation, responsible for managing and processing claims with empathy and expertise. You will be part of a team that looks after our members when they face life's most challenging times.

About the Role

The Protect Claims Manager will manage and process cases and payments for members of our fund, including managing and administering a portfolio of Total Permanent Disability (TPD) and Income Protection (IP) insurance claims, Death (D) and Terminal Illness (TI) claims with or without insurance cover, Family Law claims and early release payments (financial hardship, compassionate grounds). The primary focus of this role is to manage the end-to-end process of Death Claims ensuring you provide helpful service to the beneficiaries/claimants and assisting them with their queries along the way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and process claims with empathy and expertise.
  • Administer a portfolio of TPD and IP insurance claims.
  • Manage and administer Death (D) and Terminal Illness (TI) claims.
  • Process Family Law claims and early release payments.
  • Provide helpful service to beneficiaries/claimants and assist with their queries.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience as a Claims Case Manager managing the end-to-end process of various types of claims, especially Death Claims.
  • Experience performing Claims Staking.
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing and challenging insurer decisions and case reviewing declined claims.
  • The ability to prepare trustee recommendations for approval.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to maintain proactive, solution focused communication with members, beneficiaries, and solicitors.
