Job Title: Legal Affairs Reporter

Our team is seeking a driven and skilled journalist to lead our coverage of the legal sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for breaking news on big firms, covering the broader professional services sector, and developing and maintaining a strong network of contacts throughout the legal sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Break news on big firms, including their financial performance, strategic/personnel changes, legal policy issues and misconduct
  • Cover the broader professional services sector, including accounting and consulting, as required
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts throughout the legal sector

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a journalist
  • Legal training, experience and/or contacts would be an advantage
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong writing skills across various formats, including news and features
  • Experience working as a team player, preferably within a newsroom environment
  • Experience in digital article production including headline writing and image selection, or a willingness to learn
