Editorial Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Editor to lead the editorial and production processes of our internationally recognised scientific journal.

About the Role

This is a full-time opportunity to contribute to the advancement of pathology by overseeing a high-quality, peer-reviewed publication with a strong global reputation. As Editorial Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating all editorial operations from submission, peer review, and author communications through final technical editing and issue production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the full editorial workflow from submission and peer review through to publication.
  • Provide support to the Editors-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Editorial Board.
  • Uphold editorial and ethical standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with the publisher, authors, and reviewers to maintain journal quality and visibility.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance submissions, readership, citation impact, and international profile.
  • Contribute to the journal's long-term strategic direction.
Requirements
  • A tertiary degree or higher in a science and/or health discipline.
  • At least three years' experience in academic publishing, including peer review, editorial processes, and publication ethics.
  • Familiarity with scientific or medical terminology.
  • Proficiency with editorial management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Awareness of marketing and social media strategies for academic publications is preferred.
  • Ability to produce writing that is well structured and easy to understand is desired.
