We're seeking a skilled professional to craft the sophisticated language systems that power our newsroom tools, ensuring every interaction is precise, ethical, and aligned with our editorial standards.

This role involves serving as the bridge between advanced AI technology and practical journalism, designing, testing, and refining prompts that guide AI models, building tools that enhance workflow efficiency while maintaining the integrity that defines quality journalism.

As an Editorial AI Prompt Engineer, you'll partner with journalists and editorial teams through structured interviews and workshops, define and document excellence benchmarks for AI outputs, build and maintain a comprehensive, version-controlled library of prompt patterns and strategies, and share insights and successful strategies across teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Genuine passion for journalism and understanding of modern newsroom operations.
  • Curiosity, coupled with an experimental mindset.
  • Demonstrated elementary coding experience, preferably Python, natural language processing (NLP), and prompt engineering using different models.
  • Strong grasp of language semantics and syntax.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with both journalists and technical teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy.
