Job Title: AI-Powered Journalism Specialist

We're seeking an expert to design, test, and refine sophisticated language systems that power our newsroom tools.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between advanced AI technology and practical journalism, crafting prompts that guide AI models to produce accurate, contextually appropriate responses for diverse journalistic applications.
  • This role requires collaboration with journalists and editorial teams through structured interviews and workshops to understand workflow requirements and translate them into effective AI interactions.
  • You'll define and document excellence benchmarks for AI outputs, ensuring adherence to accuracy, relevance, tone, and editorial guidelines.
  • A comprehensive, version-controlled library of prompt patterns and strategies will be developed and maintained for organisation-wide use.

Requirements:

  • Genuine passion for journalism and understanding of modern newsroom operations.
  • Demonstrated elementary coding experience, preferably Python, natural language processing (NLP) and prompt engineering using different models.
  • Strong grasp of language semantics and syntax, coupled with an experimental mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with both journalists and technical teams.
