Job Title: Expert Palliative Care Consultant

Job Description:

The Clinical Nurse Consultant will lead clinical consultancy in supportive & palliative care at a hospital, driving quality improvement and evidence-based care initiatives. As a pivotal leader in patient-centred care within a community-focused healthcare setting, the successful candidate will lead, consult and deliver expert palliative care services, driving quality outcomes and supporting clinical teams.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert clinical advice and consultancy in palliative and supportive care
  • Lead and participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Provide education, mentorship and clinical support to multidisciplinary teams
  • Initiate and participate in clinical research, service planning and strategic initiatives
  • Drive practice improvement and lead clinical reviews across acute care services
Requirements:
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum five years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least three years experience in a speciality field in either Palliative Care, Cancer Care, Advanced or Aged Care Nursing
  • Postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which you are appointed or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public healthcare organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, review and redevelopment of policy, procedures and education programmes, relevant to the clinical specialty
