Palliative Care Specialist Opportunity

About the Role

This is a pivotal leadership position within our healthcare organization, where you will drive quality improvement and evidence-based care initiatives in supportive and palliative care. As a key member of our clinical team, you will lead, consult and deliver expert palliative care services to patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver Expert Clinical Advice: Provide high-quality clinical consultancy in palliative and supportive care to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Quality Improvement Initiatives: Lead and participate in the development, implementation and review of quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Clinical Education and Support: Offer education, mentorship and clinical support to enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals.
  • Research and Service Planning: Initiate and participate in clinical research, service planning and strategic initiatives to drive positive outcomes for patients.
  • Practice Review and Development: Conduct thorough reviews of acute care services and implement recommendations to improve patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registration and Qualifications: Be registered as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and hold relevant postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications or such other qualifications deemed suitable by our organization.
  • Experience: Possess at least five years of full-time equivalent experience as a Registered Nurse, with a minimum of three years in a specialty field related to palliative care, cancer care, advanced or aged care nursing.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Demonstrate expertise in developing, implementing, reviewing and redeveloping policies, procedures and education programs relevant to the clinical specialty.
