About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to join our People and Culture Department at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. The successful candidate will provide expert workplace relations services, coaching, and capability building for leaders, managers, and members of the People and Culture team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice on complex and specialized workplace relations issues, strategies, and risk minimization.
  • Lead and implement a comprehensive approach to industrial, policy, and legislative compliance, HR operations, and payroll governance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and case management, and facilitate dispute resolution processes.
  • Collaborate with the HR Operations team to ensure high-quality service delivery and best practice HR activities.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or Employment Law, or related fields.
  • Deep knowledge of employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, bullying and discrimination legislation, and WHS legislation.
  • Expert knowledge and skills in contemporary industrial relations, negotiation, and bargaining strategies, and human resources principles and practices.
  • Extensive experience in workplace investigations, case management, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Strong relationship management, influencing, communication, consulting, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
