Strategic Leadership Role for Engineering Delivery

The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping and delivering our design management strategy, driving technical excellence, operational efficiency, and commercial alignment across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership of design management functions to drive business outcomes.
  • Develop and implement design management strategies that align with business goals and technical standards.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead change and foster a high-performance team environment.

About You:

The ideal candidate is a strategic and operational leader with deep expertise in engineering delivery, particularly in substation and transmission line design and construction. Key qualifications include:

  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in leading engineering functions within complex, regulated environments.
  • A proven ability to develop and implement design management strategies that align with business goals and technical standards.
  • Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness, enabling sound decision-making and budget management.
  • Demonstrated success in building high-performance teams and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation and externally.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant technical or management field, with post-graduate qualifications in business or management considered advantageous.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as National Electricity Rules and Transmission Codes is desirable.
