Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinician Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team.

Job Description:

This role involves providing recovery-focused clinical services to children and young people presenting with symptoms of mental illness, distress, and/or risk issues. You will conduct assessments, care coordination, intervention, liaison, and review for children and young people. Additionally, you will provide evidence-based interventions for children, adolescents, and their families/carers experiencing mental illness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Provide individualized care to children and adolescents, including those with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with consumers, their families, and carers, as well as other stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with local community services and organizations to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or Welfare. Current registration with relevant Australian health practitioners' regulatory agency is also essential.
  • Significant experience in contemporary clinical Child and Adolescent Mental Health practice, including conducting mental health assessments and providing evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
