About the Role

This position is a great opportunity for an experienced clinician to make a real difference in the lives of older people with mental health issues.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing recovery-focused clinical services, including assessment, care coordination, intervention, liaison, and review.

The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based interventions and support consumers and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assessment, care coordination, and intervention services for older people with mental illnesses or disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based interventions and support consumers and their families.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote consumer independence and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with consumers, families, and other stakeholders.
About the Team

The Southern NSW Local Health District provides quality healthcare services to a large area in southern NSW, surrounding the ACT and extending down to the Victorian border.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Psychologist.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing contemporary Older Persons Mental Health practice, including conducting mental health assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions.
  • Understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007) and principles of mental health rehabilitation and recovery.
  • High level communication skills and ability to engage and collaborate with consumers, families, and carers.
  • Current unrestricted driver's license and willingness to drive/travel as required.
