AML Operations Lead

Job Summary:We seek a strategic AML operations lead to spearhead our team's efforts in sanctions risk, PEPs, adverse media, and third-party risk assessment. This role demands hands-on operational oversight with strategic thinking, guidance, support, and decision-making for the team.
Main Responsibilities:- Oversight of Unusual Activity Reports (UARs) and regulatory compliance
- Operational leadership with a focus on quality control and workforce planning
- Collaboration with internal teams and external partners at AUSTRAC
- Management of queues, service levels, and escalations
You should have solid experience in AML or investigations, confident navigating sanctions, PEPs, and regulatory reporting. Strong understanding of AML/CTF legislation and AUSTRAC requirements is essential. Industry accreditations like ACAMS or ICA are a big plus.
